Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine:
What is Electro-Acupuncture?

Electro-Acupuncture
Electro-acupuncture is a procedure in which low levels of electrical current from an e-stim device are run through acupuncture needles while they are retained in the patient. Electro-acupuncture is especially effective for certain types of painful conditions like tennis elbow or sciatic pain and is often used in weight loss.

Although it looks like something out of the dark ages it is actually a very modernly used technique. When receiving electro-acupuncture, an individual may feel a very slight sensation in the local area, but the process is not painful in the least bit. Different waveforms and frequencies are utilized for different disorders and treatment plans. The feeling is something like leaning your arm against something that is vibrating, you feel the vibration hum through your arm, but there is not pain involved.
