We all have emotions, and many of us have emotions that prevent us from moving forward on many levels
Understanding how the brain deals with Emotions:
There are 3 parts to the brain: the first level is considered the Reptilian Brain which works with fight or flight. Going back to the cave man, when threatened by the tiger, the body needs to respond quickly, shutting off the digestion and pumping more blood to the areas that need it to run and react quickly.
The second level is the Limbic System or the Emotional Brain. This is where emotions are processed and then released to the third level or the Higher Brain which acts as a storage area like a database of information learned from our experiences.
Emotions are held in the Limbic System until we are able to process the information. In our social society, we are expected to ignore/hold/swallow/supress our emotions and most of us have not found a good way to allow the processing of the emotions, so they get "stuck". When the emotions are not released, over time, they begin to affect the body on many levels and eventually can affect us physically. It is our body's way of reminding us that the emotions have not been released.
Chinese Medicine associates organs with each emotion. For example the Liver is affected by anger and depression, the Heart with Anxiety, the Lungs with Grief etc.
There is a SOLUTION: There are New Techniques to Permanently ELIMINATE, (not just cover-up) emotional trauma based on the Ancient Art of Acupuncture
I use various techniques to open the Emotional/Limbic holding pattern so the patient can upload the stuck emotions to the higher brain, allowing the body to detach from the emotional aspect of the event. Instead they are able to view the emotional event from a distance rather than feeling the emotion of the event. This allows the patient to move forward freely, unrestricted by emotions like fear, anxiety, anger, frustration/aggrevation, resentment, grief, guilt, worry, doubt and creates a stronger self-worth and confidence that is not able to be reached with only counseling or positive thinking.
This is an excellent and necessary step in healing/balancing in the case of Stress/Post Traumatic Stress. Without this step, the healing process is not complete, the emotional response stays active and continues to interfere on some level.
